Biography

Dr. Edwin Vale joined the Wexler University Department of Cognitive and Behavioral Neuroscience in 2001 following postdoctoral research in sleep stage memory consolidation at the Harrow Regional Medical Center. His research has focused on the longitudinal stability of environmental encoding during sleep, with particular attention to consistency across subjects and sessions.

From 2007 through 2013, Dr. Vale served as Principal Investigator on a longitudinal sleep recall study conducted in partnership with Somnatek Sleep Health Center in Harrow County. The study enrolled 47 participants and concluded in September 2013. Dr. Vale withdrew from active co-investigator status in January 2013 per the terms of an IRB withdrawal agreement. Study data were transferred to Somnatek Sleep Health Center as sole custodian.

Dr. Vale's current research activities are conducted within the department and are not associated with external clinical partnerships.

Note (added January 2013): Inquiries regarding the Wexler University longitudinal sleep recall study (Protocol 7A, IRB ref. WU-CBN-2007-044) should be directed to the Office of Research Administration and not to Dr. Vale directly. Dr. Vale is not in a position to discuss study data or outcomes.
